Hotelli nimi peegeldab selle koordinaate: 48 kraadi põhjalaiust Vosges'i mäeahelikus Prantsusmaa idaosas. See asub küla kohal asuval nõlval, mille nime mitmekeelses Alsace'is hääldatakse kui Brethanbach, Breitenbach ja Breitenbach. Ümbrus, nagu peaaegu kogu Ida-Prantsusmaa, on silmatorkavalt maaliline.
Projekti tellija, maastikuarhitekt Emil Leroy-Jönsson soovis selles ühendada oma kaks põliskultuuri - Elsassi ja Taani, laiemalt - Skandinaavia. Valisime hotelli jaoks koha, mis on üks ELi kaitsealadest
Natura 2000, seega oli põhjamaine austus looduse vastu siin kasuks.
Hotelli kahe hektari suuruse ala hõivab 14 "onni" tuba, mis on variatsioon Norra hytte teemal. Need on ehitatud nelja tüüpi kohalikust toorest ja ökosertifitseeritud puidust, pakkudes samal ajal parimat vaadet maastikule seestpoolt ja külaliste privaatsust. Nad seisavad kergesti maas: soovi korral saab neid demonteerida ilma keskkonda kahjustamata.

Reiulf Ramstad Arkitekter on välja töötanud nelja tüüpi "onnid": "Madal rohi" asub peahoone ümber ja on tõkkevaba. "Puu" ja "Ivy" on pikad ja saledad. Fjelli tippu, Norra mäest lastega peredele, on turvalised väliterrassid.
Peahoones asub orgaaniline restoran, kus domineerivad kohalikud traditsioonilised toidud ja tooted, sealhulgas hotelli enda köögiviljaaed. Seal on ka näitusepinnad, samuti Skandinaavia stiilis spaa.
